Project
The
Project
Submission is a thought-provoking art project exploring the intersection of tradition and modernity through sculptures that juxtapose religious rituals with themes of sexuality. Drawing inspiration from ‘Hinduism’, the project highlights contrasts between the religion's historically progressive attitudes, such as those in the ‘Kamasutra’, and its contemporary regressive interpretations. Central to this exploration is the use of the sacred thread ‘Mauli’, symbolizing protection and fortune, as a motif. By depicting sexual poses within a religious context, the work challenges societal norms and encourages viewers to reflect on the evolving dynamics of reverence, morality, and human connection in modern times.
